The Devil in the White City Book/Future Movie Review

Rating 4

Hi everyone!  If you were able to read this or even just begin it, I hope you have enjoyed the history and story.  It was an incredible book recommended to me this summer by one of our local life guards.  Wow, I was so impressed with what I was reading.  To read the two stories simultaneously really gave the impact of good and evil a more powerful touch.

Carrie Book/Movie Review

Rating: 4

Hi everyone!  Please start commenting at anytime prior to and after our discussion time. :)
Trying something new where I am going to post my review here and then at our discussion we can share our thoughts and questions together.

The first time I saw the 1976 film was over 20 years ago.  I only saw it in bits and pieces and it scared me!  Sissy Spacek was amazing, but I'll come back to her.

Spot light on Stephen King

Just updated Just After Dark--10/22

Today I thought I would do a mini-spot light on Stephen King.  I have read many of his books and seen several of the film adaptations.  Currently, our book for this month is Carrie.  So far, I am enjoying it.
If you would like to read our review of Stephen King films please visit Stephen King: Master of Horror.

I love Stephen King.  I don't like some of his stories, but it doesn't make me less of a fan.  I think he has a great, vivid imagination and knows just the right mixture of reality and horror to freak me out.  Below I have included several of the books/short stories I've read.  Click on the links for a synopsis.

Fried Green Tomatoes... Book and Movie Review

Rating: 5

Hi everyone!

Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe is an excellent book!  I just finished reading it (second time) and am looking forward to our live discussion.  I saw the film before I read the book (the first time) and I am eager to compare both with you.  I think Fannie Flagg wrote an amazing book (sobbed at the end) and did a wonderful job with the screenplay considering things had to be edited from the novel.  I've included some discussion questions as well as some photos, music, and other interesting facts.

All The President's Men Book and Movie Review

Rating: 4

Hi readers!  I'm getting very excited for our book/movie review.  I will admit this was a hard book for me to read because there were so many people and conversations to keep track.  Thank goodness I love this film because I had to watch it to help me make sense of everything.  I miss old school journalism.  We don't make journalists like we use to.
